CELEBRATE SUMMER COLOUR

When the spring winds start blowing in Wellington, you know summer is on the way. This means new and interesting colours in the clothing stores. This season’s palette is going to suit a lot of people. The colours are not as bold as we have seen in previous seasons; they are softer, prettier hues. Let me talk you through the main new season colours that are in store right now.

Smokey Lilac Grey

This is a wonderful colour that can be teamed with a lot of other colours. I really like Max’s smoke grey tie front drapey pants teamed with one of the colours below, to have you looking stylish this season. Max also have a pretty cowl neck dress in this colour. Gloria’s have an abundance of labels using soft greys, including Verge. Wild South have a fabulous dip dye dress for a lovely relaxed look.

Everything is Peachy

The Max Crochet trim V-neck beach dress in coral looks like a summer staple to me.  Pagani has a scallop lace cami in coral that would be ideal with the smokey grey trousers I mentioned above. Jacqui E’s Holly V-neck cardi in coral also stands out and they have many other pretty sleeveless options. Just Jeans cold shoulder dress in this pretty colour would be lovely with some silver sandals from Hannah’s or Banks Shoes.

Blue – sea and sky

An abundance of blue still reigns. From strong ‘snorkel blue’ to periwinkle and lighter turquoise. Jacqui E has some outstanding crop jackets and cardigans in great blues. There are also some lovely blue print dresses. Just Jeans has a plethora of denim blue options in tops and bottoms. Plenty of blue in the Scope range at Gloria’s too, like their nice mix of grey and blues in the Verge range of Tees & tops.

Gorgeous Green

It’s a colour many NZ women shy away from. But don’t! It’s really very flattering. Max has a gorgeous dress that is a nice warm shade of green, so not very scary at all. Jacqui E's jade green off the shoulder top &  dresses are super pretty. Gloria’s Scope range has some nice brighter green Tees and cardigans.

Pretty in Pink

Soft rose quartz and dusky pink feature this season. Gorgeous with grey and white and so nice with tan, cream or a stone coloured neutral. Max has a lovely tie waist print dress in this lovely shade. Bomber jackets are a big trend this season and the Just Jeans pale pink bomber ticks all the style boxes.

Enjoy this seasons softer, prettier colours. They are subdued and flattering and will fit together with all your existing neutrals. Splash out and purchase a colour that you don’t normally wear but instinctually really like. Have faith in the fact that most people instinctually do know what colours look good on them.
