Shine bright like a diamond!

Whilst I profess to not being a real girly girl, all this falls down when you have me near anything sparkly and with sequins. I cannot RESIST sparkly fabrics and pieces.  I must have been a magpie in my previous life. I love making my sparkles casual and wearing them with denim so they can be a day to day look so I get the wear out of them. This reminds me of a conversation I had with a client of mine, when we talked about people keeping clothes ‘for best’. She remarked, “'why do people save clothing for best? Today is the best day you have, just wear it'. I totally agree.

Spring is a wonderful time to add some sparkle. It’s an exciting time where we are all filled with the hope of a long, hot and warm summer. Sparkles to me mean all this and more. It says “I’m in a good mood & I’m confident – see I have a sparkly fabric on!” As I mentioned above, it’s not just for night time either. I will team my sparkly gold plain neck T with ripped jeans and a cardigan for a casual and relaxed look.

Likewise I might step it up to my full sequinned fitted top with smarter jeans and a blazer if I’m heading out to drinks.  Or a nice pair of trousers, the sequinned top and then a denim jacket to bring the level of casual right back down again. There are many levels of sparkle and as with all the trends I discuss on this blog, each to their own with their use, however much or little.

I really love the Cold Shoulder beaded dress if you are looking for a party dress this season with sparkle and the on-trend cut out shoulders we discussed in the last blog. This can be found at MAX. If you don’t want to go ‘full sparkle’ then stay in Max and check out the beaded V neck shell top which just has a smattering down the side. Also with a touch of sparkle are some lovely tops from Verge, found at Glorias. The Marco top and Moth Tee have detail that will give your outfit a lift.

Other ways to incorporate this trend could be to look out for classic pieces but with embellished buttons. Or simply bling up your day to day outfits with sparkly earrings, necklaces or bracelets. Just Jeans have some lovely options to add to simple outfits. Hannahs have some metallic sandals that not only will go with everything, but are adding this on-trend sheen. Whichever way this trends calls to you, be brave and know you can wear it any way you like and while you do you will bring joy to me and all the other magpies of the world!
